$3.8 Million Bond Will Fix Sewers & Sidewalks

Mt. Lebanon commissioners are moving toward a $3.8 million bond issue to pay for various projects over the coming years.

The bond issue, which will be voted on at a meeting Monday, would pay for sewer, street and sidewalk work, as well as replacement of fire department equipment. The spending was included in the current operating budget.

First of all, I'm clueless on this stuff so I may be totally way off.

With that said, if Lebo is doing a major sidewalk/sewer fix, would it be appropriate to move the utilities underground (while they are redoing sidewalks?)

This way the trees can grow past those telephone wires.

Just a thought.

Write them a check, please for underground utilities.

I doubt that $3.8 million constitutes major repair. However, I would be interested in seeing how much it would take to bury the utilities. The current set up is hideous. In my hometown in Ohio, all the utilities are run over alleys behind properties instead of the the front.

Maybe this could be done over 30+ years. Do one street at a time when redoing the sidewalks. Start with the streets that have no sidewalks to make it easier.....or start with my street! :)
