Another First Friday Coming Up!
The Washington Road Business and Professional Association is holding another First Friday this coming Friday, September 2 from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM.
First Fridays are an evening full of fun on Washington Road featuring great shopping, fabulous music, juried art exhibits, wine-tasting, architectural tours, farmers’ markets, street performers, children’s activities and in-store events!

The weather was fine for a walk over to "downtown."
I didn't see a "juried art show" anywhere (though a few people were selling their art on the sidewalk).
The music was generally over-ampped, which was annoying.
I do think there evenings are pretty good ideas, I just wish a little better attention was paid to things like traffic flow. In some areas, the activities on the sidewalk force pedestrians into the street.
It was a great night for strolling, and I'd rather see too many people on Mt. Lebanon sidewalks than too few. I suspect that local merchants and musicians agree.
In addition to catching some terrific music and an Italian soda at Aldo's, I got acquainted with the owner of Tournesol. I've added a link to the website, over to the right. Tournesol has terrific stuff from all over the world, and the owner has a great story of her own. The merchandise isn't cheap, that's for sure, but it's interesting and fun and good quality and above all, it's something different in Mt. Lebanon.
Mike,
Just catching up on reading over here. Thanks for stopping by for a fosfato. One of these days you'll have to introduce yourself when you're in.
Hopefully we'll see you for Oktoberfest...
