Lebo: Cover Up

This time, it's the girls of Mt. Lebanon High School who are being told to cover up. The staff is adhering to a rigorous interpretation of a long-standing dress code. The code officially applies to all kids, but the brunt of its enforcement falls disproportionately on girls. No tank tops for them; no holes in pants in "inappropriate" places.

I am undoubtedly in the minority on this, but I think that those who are paid with our tax dollars have better things to do than monitor what kids are wearing.

I agree with Steve. Belly shirts, thongs, etc. have no place in a school just like most workplaces would ban them (unless you work at Hooters). This is a common sense requirement because parents these days are too lazy and/or afraid of hurting their child's "self-esteem" to enforce any kind or discipline or self-respect.

Jay,

You should be forced to wear a clown suit when you go to work.

It's called decency. It's called discpiline. It's called self-respect. All the teenage girls who go to school dressed like hookers and strippers will be the same ones who compalin later in life, probably because they didn't get some undeserved pay raise, that they are victims of harassment.
You're right about what kind of underwear a girl has not being anyone's business. So they should quit wearing clothes that reveal their underwear. I think the school district should implement uniforms.

as far as the previous comment i concerned no woman "asks" or deserves to be harrassed. by blaming a person being harrassed on how they are dressed you draw attention away from the real problem which would be the person that is involved in the harrassing
