Mt. Lebanon Native Lives His Dream On The Street Where He Was Raised

The Post-Gazette recently visited one of Mt. Lebanon's newest places to dine -- Iovino's Cafe -- and posted their review of the establishment while also providing some history about Jeff Iovino, the owner and a Mt. Lebanon native.

My husband and I and another couple went there last night finally after trying to go the past few Saturdays (book your reservation early in the week). It was wonderful! Beautiful, crisp, clean interior, great service (thanks Nora), the food was great (and hot), the bathrooms were clean and everyone was very friendly. Each of us had something different to eat. By far, the best meal was the seared sea scallops with black pepper linguini. There is a hint of apple butter in the sauce and it is to die for. I have never tasted such great flavor. It is BYOB, so don't forget wine. I had read in an earlier review in the Post Gazette that the major complaint was the noise level. Jeff has taken care of that and added acoustic panels on the ceiling. The noise level was fine last night even with a packed house. This place is a great addition to Mt. Lebanon and I am certain it will do well. Plus it is great to support a local guy living his dream. And it doesn't hurt that he is a Lebo grad either! We will be back soon and I can't wait to try their deserts. Give this place a try - you'll love it!
