Possible Sewer Rate Increase

As the article says, it might cost Mt. Lebanon residents more to flush their toilets come January 1, 2007. Mt. Lebanon commissioners will be holding a hearing on August 14 to determine whether or not to raise sewer rates a proposed 65 percent to make repairs to the current sewer system in order to meet standards imposed by the federal Environmental Protection Agency on municipalities across Allegheny County.

Joe, how about a post about the letter many ML residents just received concerning the new $50 annual fee that the municipality will charge for those who have home alarms NOT MONITORED by the MLPD!! I would be interested in the reaction of others to this.
