The rivalry between Mt. Lebanon and Upper St. Clair High Schools has always been pretty strong, but the latest news takes it to a whole new level. Joseph Rodella, son of School Board President Joseph Rodella, has accused USCHS's principal of attacking him at a recent basketball game between the schools.

Are we coddling our kids to much?
The Lebo kids were told not go on the floor, had they obeyed the rule this incident would have never happened! Was the reaction excessive definitely, but again it didn't need to have occurred.
Lets see in the past few years we've had...
• cheerleaders posting nude pictures from drunken parties.
• The Top 25 List
• The high school was deemed unwelcome at the Carnegie Museum due to disruptive behavior
May be our kids do need a slap or two... anyone agree?
There is no excuse for the reaction of the USC principal. While the kids should do what they are told how can anyone justify an administrator physically assaulting a student for celebrating a basketball victory? What is even more alarming is the apparent disregard by the USC school district. An investigation? They did not even talk to the victim.
Bull-- the kids were told not to go on the floor and they did it anyay. End of story!!!
Your reaction is a little over-emotional. Just because some kids disregarded instructions does not mean that excessive force should of been used in restraining them from celebrating a victory. Escorting the offenders from the buliding would of been more appropriate. Verbal reprimands... you name it. But slamming a kid to the ground and then putting a knee on their chest does seem overly excessive. Just like your responses to this incident.
No my reaction isn't over-emotional. Did you attended the "Putting others first" session at the HS.
I have never been to any event like this where the speakers felt a need to comment on the bad behavior and disrespect displayed by students at their session.
You want to excuse bad behavior... disobedience... go ahead, I won't! Had the student stayed off the floor he wouldn't have been "assualted." Sometimes in life when you do the wrong thing, bad things happen... not fair maybe... but a great lesson!

They did escort three students from the game. What did that do.
Is the hosting facility required to chase down every individual, play nice and politely suggest that they leave. WHile they're being politically correct, who manages the other individuals that are out of control.
Maybe you should try crowd control sometime!
Why were the students rushing the court after repeatedly being told not to? It must have been frightening to all those in charge when things got out of control while tensions and emotions were running high. Maybe next time the National Guard should be summoned to form a human wall between the students and the court and then escort each student out one by one. That way, no one will get hurt and everyone will live happily ever after.
