From the Tribune Review Friday, April 27, 2007
Lance: To Mt. Lebanon commissioners. The molestation of taxpayers is complete: The board has approved a $6.1 million tax break for the developer of some quite tony condominiums. Elected officials -- first the school board and now the commissioners -- have turned taxpayers into the Board of Corporate Wealthfare. Taxpayers should remember this when those responsible next ask for their vote.
Was it apathy or competition with television show American Idol? Last night's community turn out to hear the candidates speak was disappointing. Many empty seats in a small auditorium at Jefferson.
Maybe the public has already made their decision?
There were some fresh new ideas last night. I believe that the incumbants have reason to be concerned.
