Deer Stomps Dog in Lebo Yard

A terrier-mix dog was attacked and stomped by a deer this morning in the back yard of the dog's Mt. Lebanon home.

A neighbor in the 1700 block of Theodan Drive reported the incident to Mt. Lebanon Police at 9:10 a.m. today. The neighbor told police that two dogs were in their own yard, contained by an invisible fence.

A female deer accompanied by fawns entered the yard and went after one of the dogs, said Lt. Ken Truver. "The neighbor said the dogs are older and apparently couldn't maneuver too well. The deer cornered one of the dogs and stomped on it."

They should put the invisible fence collars on all of the deer, and then put the invisible fence line next to roads and around our gardens.

Either that or I wouldn't mind deer for dinner.

my goof parson russell terrier puppy (don't ask) was chased and trampled by a doe in the enclosed back yard yesterday and what a scene! that dumb dog was chased up yelping but still would not leave the deer alone so she was chased again yelping and dragging her hind quarters. finally.... finally she came when i called her. i thought her back was injured but she bounced right back. she hid under my desk until my husband brought her out to scrub the hoof prints from her back!

I hit a deer about a year ago. I was going slow around a bend when he jumped in front of me bounced off the hood onto the windshield, off the windshield and hit his head on a telephone pole and ran off. I suspect he was mighty sore the next day if he managed to survive. I have no love for deer and am glad to see them harvested.

Maybe the deer that hit his head on the telephone pole is the one that is going biserk in Twin Hills?
