Born in Pittsburgh:
Rich Skrenta, a 1985 Mt. Lebanon High School graduate, is credited here with developing the first virus for a microcomputer -- when he was in the 9th grade. The virus celebrates its 25th birthday this year.
Skrenta moved on to bigger and better things. Computer viruses continue to play a big role in Pittsburgh.

Mike,
You may recall a month or so ago I sent you an email about Topix.com, a news website that was created by some old Lebo guys. (Topix regularly provides links to content on your site.)
Well, Rich is one of those guys. They have been wildly successful with this site, having recently sold interests to several large newspaper companies including Gannett and McClatchy. Rich and a few others recently left Topix, and I'm sure we can expect to see something new from them soon . . .
