Officials To Listen To T-Station Area Ideas
Residents of Dormont and Mt. Lebanon will get a chance this week to put themselves on the forefront of what urban planners call a national trend in transportation planning.
Allegheny County and municipal officials will listen Thursday to suggestions for enhancing neighborhoods around Port Authority light-rail T stations. The meeting is the first step in what officials hope will transform the T-station areas into community hubs.

Interesting.....I am not sure about residences on top of a T-station but I have seen a mixed used commerical and retail complex integrated with rail stations in several cities - most recently Chicago.
I am not sure what would make the most sense at the Mt. Lebanon - probably more office space - but I know for sure that Dormont store owners would welcome more office workers in the Potomac Ave business district.
This is a great opportunity for Mike's TechLebo proposal! A related idea would be some kind of small-office space co-op for freelancers and small businesses (suggested in the comments in the linked post, I think).
