City Sidewalks, Busy Sidewalks Make Area Towns More Livable

Mt. Lebanon (and its sidewalks) were mentioned in an article yesterday in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Here's an interesting snippet from the article:

She grew up in McCandless, but when she returned to the Pittsburgh area 10 years ago, she insisted to her husband that they live in Mt. Lebanon, where he grew up. "I put my foot down. I remember Mt. Lebanon, I remember the sidewalks and the trees. I remember the North Hills, and there's no community there," she said.

The 2008 MTL budget includes $45,000 for the installation of approximately 1,000 feet of sidewalk by the Municipality at no cost to the property owners. Additionally, there was $35,000 carried over for the same purpose from the 2007 budget. This program is continued and increases a bit over the next few years as well.
