Commissioner Dan Miller Goes Online
New Mt. Lebanon Commissioner Dan Miller, who represents Ward 5, is live online with a new (but technically "unofficial") website and weblog. Check it out at www.danmillerward5.com.
Congrats to Dan on a nice looking site and on taking the online plunge. I hope that all of your constituents and all of the citizens of Mt. Lebanon appreciate it. And I hope that the other commissioners follow your lead. The weather may be cool, but the water is warm!

Dan's site (being a WordPress site) has an automatic RSS feed. It's not linked on the site, but the url is:

Matt -- Thanks for pointing that out. Links for the RSS feeds for posts/comments have been added to the sidebar.
This is a great initiative. Dan gets both the public and service parts of public service.
Congratulations to Commissioner Miller on being so responsive to his constituents! This website is valuable not only to those who are in Commissioner Miller's ward but to all residents of Mt. Lebanon who want a more active understanding of what our elected officials are doing! Also, about when will we see that 20% tax cut?...Oops- that was another commissioner's campaign promise- sorry!
Good Luck, Dan!
Sincerely,
gina niewodowski
I think the part of the site that shows how Mr. Miller has voted is particularly helpful. If others don't follow his lead, I think it would be great if he would show us how his colleagues voted (at least if they have anything other than a 5-0 vote).
Also, since Gina opened the Raja door, I'd like to hear from some of the commenters from November who spewed rumors that Raja would immediately sherk his Commission duties and file to run against Matt Smith this year. If you haven't heard, the lone Republican candidate is former Lebo school board member Dave Blazeck.
Dan,
This is a great example of the kind of transparency we need from all of our leaders. Thanks for doing this.
My hope is that we can soon have MTL Commission meeting televised much like the School Board meetings so we have the option of staying informed, even if we can't make the meetings.
Dave,
Glad you commented on Raja and Dan working together. (You must have been to Dan's website.) I'm pretty tickled that folks are working together for our common good. Thanks for pointing that out!
Bob
If you want to know how any Commissioner voted see: http://tinyurl.com/278bzd
3 years of meeting minutes online.
It would be much better however, if the metings (and discussion sessions) were televised.
