Coming Soon: Learning Express Toy Store
Mt. Lebanon resident and MLHS graduate David Bahm and his wife Amy will be opening a Learning Express Toy Store in the Galleria mall in June of this year. Their store will be located on the 2nd level next to Mitchell's Fish Market and across from Panera Bread.
I have not heard of this store before, but found the following information from their web site:
As far as I know, this will also be the first toy store in Mt. Lebanon (If I'm wrong and there has been one before, please correct me!)
Good luck to David and Amy in their new business venture!

Well there was "The Toy Store" (actual name) located on the spot where the Dollar Bank is in the Virginia Manor Shoppes circa 1970s. The first building on that location was 100% The Toy Store which was eventually cut in half to all the kids dismay with the half being used for a bank (Equibank back then).
Memories of the store include the 10 cents baskets when you walked in...full of super balls and other small toys any kid could afford not to mention the "hippies" that worked there. The biggest memory for me hails from the summer before I went into 1st grade. I was in a really bad bike accident on Pinetree hill resulting in a concussion and practically every portion of skin scraped off or at least left in brush burn state. Word reached the hippies of my accident, most likely via my friend Larry, and to my delight they sent up a bunch of toys to the house.
Good luck on the Learning Express Toy Store!!! I'll be sure to buy things there as I'm a regular at Panera and a mom.
