July 4, 1975 in Mt. Lebanon

A good friend of mine (and former Mt. Lebanon resident) named Jim Heid posted this digitized 8mm movie of his family celebrating July 4 in Mt. Lebanon back in 1975. It's great to see the park, festivities and fireworks from a quarter century ago.

Great video! It really brought back memories of my childhood in Mt Lebanon (I would have just turned 9 the summer of 1975). I'm glad the firework displays were shown...was that two dinosaurs? I think I remember them! Of course this was the year before the big bicentennial celebration and those displays that year were amazing.

What surprised me is how I find myself pining for the old Lebo yet to see the video so much of the good old fashioned "stuff" memories are made of are still here. Isn't that the same dunking machine we still use? Thanks for making me smile.

Great to see this vid here, Joe -- thanks for posting it!

As a lifelong Lebo lover, I'll follow your blog for sure.

Happy New Year!
