2011 Manager's Recommended Budget Released
Municipal Manager Stephen Feller has released his 2011 Recommended Budget. Highlights include:

- A proposed .48 millage increase in the property tax rate -- which equates to roughly $96 per year for a home with a market value of $200,000
- Storm water fee of $5-$6 a month per dwelling to fund a series of storm sewer improvements
- No proposed borrowing
- No change in number of full time employees
- Fund balance will deal with pension and health insurance costs and stagnant revenue

Does anyone see that the new storm sewer deal doesn't add up ? The numbers, not whether we have a growing problem that has to be solved and fixed....you know Revenues v. Expenditures ?
I'm sure there is an acceptable explanation, but that's why they hold public budget review sessions as well as conduct public hearings. Problem is though, hardly any of the general public show up.
