Do mountains of debt count as "great for our community"? All this has been is poor planning combined with poor timing, and I'm hoping that the community doesn't end up suffering as a whole because of it...
Greg, hope all you want. You can bet the the community will suffer under the mountain of debt this and past school boards have piled on us.

Newspaper reporters fail once again to tell the whole story....one of the "last major hurdles" will be the final bids on the construction contracts...if the qualified low bid construction costs for the "new" portion of the overall project exceed a certain $ amount (which has not been divulged to the public), depending on the excess amount, a next "last major hurdle" will require either another Act 34 hearing or an electoral referendum....if the total project basic construction costs escalated to total project costs exceed $113.3 million by over 8%, I believe another "last major hurdle" would be a required Act 34 hearing by the District....of course, the District could avoid these aggrevations in yet another "last major hurdle" by removing items "absolutely required for our 21st. century educational plan" from their list of 10 Deduct Alternates to bring the costs *in line*...things like the tennis courts (for which there is no alternate plan), the 3rd. gym... heavens to Betsy, families will not move to Mt. Lebanon... perhaps the "last major hurdle" then would be an acceptable & truthful explanation by the District and SB of what went wrong, who is to blame and what will be done about it.
