The Mt. Lebanon School District plans to hold a groundbreaking ceremony at the end of April for its $113.2 million high school renovation project.
School board president Josephine Posti made the announcement at a board meeting Monday night.
She invited the community to join in the "music, fanfare and hard hats" at 3:30 p.m. April 28 on the lawn in front of the pool building on the high school campus.

I'm sure that they would get more community participation if it wasn't at 3:30 on a Thursday. How about 6 PM? How about the weekend?

Maybe it's the same reason that they have plain clothes Mt Lebanon Police Officers attending the school board meeting- they are scared to death!
Not everyone is as congenial as us.
Recall, this is the same board that called the cops and raised the taxes!
For the record, there are not any on-duty Mt. Lebanon police officers attending school board meetings, plain clothes or otherwise. If you see a police officer at a school board meeting, that officer is off-duty and attending as a result of their residency in Mt. Lebanon and their interest in school board activities. At this time, they are neither assigned nor authorized to attend in the course of their duties as a MLPD officer.
