If Mr. Cannon had been given good advice he could have cross filed.

This was an interesting primary. We're starting to see the election process open-up in the community; although it sounds like the iron fist of power is still trying to hold-on for dear life.

A number of races will be interesting to watch. One that I am interested in is Ward #3 where there are two good candidates. I think that either of them would be a good choice as a commissioner. Ward #3 residents are lucky to have two good choices.

I hope that voters will hold the incumbents responsible for their decisions to paint red ink across our municipal balnace sheets. At the same time, I also hope that the challenger presents a credible and constructive plan that will address any deficiences that resulted from poor decisions.

Let's all hope that our candidates will not "walk-out of the room" when the discussion turns to their legacy of red-ink. Silently walking away from a problem doesn't solve anything, and ANY candidate who behaves this way should be held accountable by the electorate.
