Trib: Ex-Mt. Lebanon man testifies he saw 100 infants killed at Philly abortion clinic

A former clinic worker who grew up in Mt. Lebanon testified on Thursday that he routinely saw babies born and then killed with scissors in an inner-city Philadelphia clinic that catered to minorities, the poor and women with late-term pregnancies.

Unlicensed doctor Stephen Massof thought clinic owner Dr. Kermit Gosnell was trying to help vulnerable women seeking abortions.

Trib: Guilty plea expected for Mt. Lebanon man in pill mill

The Mt. Lebanon man who admitted to passing himself off as a doctor and performing illegal abortions is scheduled to plead guilty next month in a federal court in Philadelphia to a charge of illegally prescribing painkillers in a thriving pill mill.

Steven Massof, 49, a graduate of St. George's Medical School in the West Indies who never obtained a medical license, is due in federal court on Feb. 8 to enter a plea. Federal prosecutors say he used clinic owner Kermit Gosnell's registration to prescribe controlled drugs to patients in 2006 and 2007.

Trib: Phony Mt. Lebanon doctor charged anew in 'pill mill' case

Steven Massof, the Mt. Lebanon man who admitted to passing himself off as a doctor and performing illegal abortions, was indicted by a federal grand jury on Wednesday on charges of participating in a thriving "pill mill."

Massof, 49, who remains in jail awaiting sentencing on third-degree murder and conspiracy charges, is accused of writing 30 illegal prescriptions for painkillers and sedatives between December 2006 and July 2007 from the abortion clinic where he worked in Philadelphia.

WTAE: Unlicensed Doctor From Mt. Lebanon Pleads In Abortion Case

An unlicensed doctor pleaded guilty on Thursday to third-degree murder in the deaths of two late-term babies who were born alive and then killed with scissors at a filthy Philadelphia abortion clinic.

Steven Massof, 49, of Mt. Lebanon, pleaded guilty to two counts of third-degree murder, murder conspiracy and other charges. Massof testified to a grand jury that he snipped the spines of more than 100 babies after seeing them breathe, move or show other signs of life.

Trib: Mt. Lebanon man arrested for murder in abortion case

Authorities this morning arrested a Mt. Lebanon man on murder charges, saying he helped a Philadelphia abortion doctor kill babies.

Detectives from the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office arrested Steven Massof, 48, at his home, said Mike Manko, spokesman for the office. Massof faces 12 charges including two counts of murder.
