$50 Fee

In the comments of the previous post, Joe brings to light a $50 fee that the municipality may be charging. I don't know anything about it. Joe or anyone else care to enlighten the rest of us?

How about a post about the letter many ML residents just received concerning the new $50 annual fee that the municipality will charge for those who have home alarms NOT MONITORED by the MLPD!! I would be interested in the reaction of others to this.

Possible Sewer Rate Increase

As the article says, it might cost Mt. Lebanon residents more to flush their toilets come January 1, 2007. Mt. Lebanon commissioners will be holding a hearing on August 14 to determine whether or not to raise sewer rates a proposed 65 percent to make repairs to the current sewer system in order to meet standards imposed by the federal Environmental Protection Agency on municipalities across Allegheny County.

Steel City Rail Jam Comes To Lebo

It was snowing yesterday in Mt. Lebanon Park. Well no, not really -- unless you count the ice shavings from various ice skating rinks that were placed on one of the hills. Skiers and snowboarders from Mt. Lebanon, Pittsburgh, Ohio, Maryland and New York came to the park to have a little wintertime fun.

BlogLebo.com

Mt. Lebanon's favorite blog now has its own dot-com address! BlogLebo.com has been registered and now points to this blog's address. The blog will stay hosted by Blogger, but it is our hope that the use of BlogLebo.com will help with the promotion of the blog itself -- since it's easier to just say "BlogLebo.com" than the full domain name on Blogger's servers. Make sure to tell everyone you know (that cares about Mt. Lebanon!) about this new domain name.

Fundraiser For Mt. Lebanon Women's Soccer Team

If you think you are a Steelers fan, you have to read this……

The Mt. Lebanon lady’s soccer team is holding a raffle on an authentic NFL Steelers helmet with the Super Bowl XL logo and the score of the game that last year gave the Steelers their fifth Super Bowl title. The helmet is housed in a premier quality Steiner glass and mahogany case.

But there’s more.

The helmet is signed by Art and Dan Rooney, coach Bill Cowher, Ben Roethlisberger, Mike Logan, Jerame Tuman, Alan Faneca, Max Starks and Aaron Smith.

For any football fan anywhere and especially for Steelers fanatics, this stunning helmet will be something to cherish for a lifetime. Sports memorabilia collectors will find that the helmet’s truly unique combination of signatures will make it the centerpiece of their collection.

Tickets for the raffle are $5 each. The drawing will be held September 6 when the Lady Blue Devils, the 2005 Section 4 champions, open the 2006 WPIAL soccer season at home against Moon Township – one night before the Steelers open their season at Heinz Field.

Tickets are available by calling Greg Drahuschak at 412-561-0497. Tickets also are available at Bado’s restaurant on Beverly Road and from members of the Lady Blue Devils soccer team. Questions about the raffle can be emailed to Greg Drahuschak at gregory.drahuschak@verizon.net.

All raffle proceeds directly benefit the Mt. Lebanon High School Lady Blue Devils soccer team. This is a once of a lifetime chance to own a truly one of a kind football lover’s dream. Don’t pass it up!
