Chief McDonough is 53/54 years old, according to the linked article. He appears to be very qualified for the job. He is experienced. I am concerned about how long he will stick around before retirement. We cannot afford to hire chiefs close to retirement, and pay out lots of taxpayer funded pension dollars. The 2012 pension fund increase is right around the corner.

If Lebo were to not hire someone because of their age Lebo would be subject to a discrimination lawsuit I would think.
