Patch: 'A Really Comfortable Place': New Primanti Bros. Open For Business

The story of Primanti Bros. goes back to the 1930s, when Joe Primanti started pushing a cart around Pittsburgh's Strip District to sell sandwiches.

Around the same time, construction started on a building in Mt. Lebanon, near the Upper St. Clair line, that later served as home to a realty company.

After nearly 80 years, the sandwiches have met the building, which is home to the latest Primanti Bros. restaurant.

P-G: Primanti to open site in Mt. Lebanon

The newest Primanti Bros. restaurant will open in mid-June in Mt. Lebanon.

After purchasing the building last fall the chain, famous for its all-in-one sandwiches, will debut its 10th suburban restaurant at 1529 Washington Road, director of operations Marc Teklinski said.

"What's special about it is the location," he said.

Primanti Brothers Coming To Mt. Lebanon?


Is a Primanti Brothers coming to Mt. Lebanon? They might be. According to the above posting on the mtl - Mt. Lebanon Magazine Facebook page, Primanti Brothers is taking a look at a location on Washington Road across the street from the Galleria. Sounds great to me!

Update: The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is also reporting on Primanti Brothers' purchase of the building
