WTAE: Mt. Lebanon Mom Remembered Through Memorial Race, Walk

It has been nearly one year since Mt. Lebanon mother Lisa Styles was hit and killed by a vehicle while walking with her young children in a stroller.

But those who knew and loved her most, and even those who were just touched by her story, have come together to organize a fundraiser in her name.

“She was energetic. She was loving. She was a doting mother. She was ... she was the best person I've ever met,” her husband, Brett Styles, told Channel 4 Action News’ Ari Hait.

Trib: Mt. Lebanon intersection to get upgrades

The Mt. Lebanon intersection where a jogger was struck and killed by a sport utility vehicle will get larger, clearer signs and crosswalk markings in the hope of making it safer, officials said.

A stop sign where Beadling Road meets Washington Road will be replaced with one that's 3 feet wide and 7 feet closer to Washington Road; Beadling Road will get "Stop Ahead," "Pedestrian Crossing Ahead" and "No Parking" signs in the area leading to the intersection. Crews will paint a diagonally striped crosswalk across Beadling and a stop bar across the lane prior to the crosswalk.

WTAE: DUI Suspect In Mt. Lebanon Stroller Mom's Death Comes Home, Gets Banded

A young Mt. Lebanon man has returned to Pennsylvania and is being electronically monitored while he waits to go on trial for the death of a local woman who was pushing her kids in a jogging stroller.

Allegheny County Pretrial Services told Channel 4 Action News that Benjamin Cope, 20, was banded and fitted with his monitoring device Thursday morning. He is charged with homicide by vehicle while DUI, reckless endangerment and involuntary manslaughter.

WPXI: Judge Orders Man Charged In Jogger's Death To Wear Monitoring Bracelet

A judge ordered the man accused of hitting and killing a Mount Lebanon mother of three while he was under the influence of marijuana to wear an electronic monitoring bracelet.

Benjamin Cope, 20, is out of jail on bond awaiting trial on a number of charges, including homicide by vehicle.

According to Channel 11 news exchange partners at TribLIVE, a judge reinstated an order Tuesday for Cope to wear an electronic monitoring bracelet.

PG: Suspect in jogger's death released to attend college

A Mt. Lebanon man charged with killing a young mother as she jogged along Washington Road will be able to resume college classes in Tennessee.

Allegheny County Judge Jeffrey A. Manning agreed today to lift the electronic monitoring requirement and released Benjamin T. Cope on $25,000 straight bail.

Both the prosecution and defense agreed that electronic monitoring would preclude Mr. Cope from attending college classes at Sewanee University, also known as the University of the South, and recommended it not be used.

KDKA: New Charges Filed In Fatal Mt. Lebanon Accident

Authorities have filed new charges against a driver in connection to a pedestrian accident that killed a mother in Mt. Lebanon.

Lisa Styles, 36, of Mt. Lebanon, was jogging with her 3-year-old son and 1-year-old daughter in a double stroller when she was struck and killed by an SUV at the intersection Washington and Beadling Roads back in June.

Mt. Lebanon Woman Hit By SUV Dies, DUI Charges To Be Filed

A woman from Mount Lebanon has died today after she was hit by an SUV Monday afternoon.

This afternoon, Mt. Lebanon police announced that they will be filing two DUI charges against the driver of the vehicle. Police also said that additional charges could be filed at a later date, if they determine it to be necessary.

Officials said Lisa Styles, 36, was jogging with her two of her three young children in a stroller when she was hit at Beadling Road and Washington Road.
